Welcome to your new Spacetek V-Cell Rugged Housing.

The V-Cell is a protective enclosure system designed for Starlink Mini and Starlink Standard Gen 3 / V4 setups used in harsher mobile or outdoor environments.

It is commonly used for mining, fleet, marine, industrial, caravan, 4WD and remote-site installations where the Starlink terminal needs extra protection from dust, rain, spray, vibration and exposed operating conditions.

This guide covers what to check before installation, kit inclusions, setup resources and helpful FAQs.

Before You Get Started

⚠️ The V-Cell is a protective housing system. It is not a structural mount by itself.

Before installation, we recommend:

  • Confirming you have selected the correct V-Cell model for your Starlink terminal

  • Checking your mounting location before fitting the housing

  • Making sure the mounting surface, roof rack, tray, rail or support structure is suitable

  • Planning cable routing before closing the housing

  • Checking gasket surfaces, seals and cable-entry points

  • Reviewing the installation guide and setup video below

  • Confirming the final mounted position gives Starlink a clear view of the sky

The V-Cell must be assembled correctly for the housing and sealing system to perform as intended.

Correct gasket alignment, cable-entry setup and even fastener tightening are important.

If the V-Cell is being fitted to a work vehicle, mine vehicle, vessel, fleet vehicle or permanent outdoor setup, we recommend using a qualified installer, auto electrician or suitably experienced technician.

Important Installation Notes

The V-Cell is designed to help protect the Starlink terminal in demanding environments, but the full installation still depends on the mounting system used.

Please note:

  • Starlink terminal is not included

  • Mounting accessories may be sold separately

  • The housing must be matched to the correct Starlink model

  • The mounting surface must be suitable for the vehicle, vessel or site structure

  • Cable glands and entry points must be fitted correctly

  • Fasteners should be tightened evenly

  • Cable strain relief should be planned before final fitting

  • In-motion or extreme-environment use depends on the full installation, not the housing alone

Do not drill, cut or modify the Starlink terminal itself.

What’s Included

Kit inclusions may vary depending on the V-Cell model selected.

The V-Cell kit generally includes:

  • V-Cell protective housing

  • Model-specific internal housing components

  • Sealing hardware

  • Fastener hardware

  • Cable-entry components

Please note: Starlink Mini or Starlink Standard Gen 3 / V4 is not included.

Compatible mounting accessories, such as drop-down brackets, S-rails or roof rack wing supports, may need to be selected separately depending on your installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which V-Cell model do I need?

Choose the Starlink Mini V-Cell if you are using a Starlink Mini terminal.

Choose the Starlink Standard Gen 3 / V4 V-Cell if you are using the larger flat rectangular Starlink Standard terminal, also known as Standard Kit, Standard 4 or V4.

If you are not sure which Starlink model you have, check before ordering or contact Spacetek support.

No. The V-Cell is the protective housing system only.

The Starlink terminal must be purchased separately from Starlink or an authorised retailer.

Is the V-Cell a mount?

No. The V-Cell is a protective housing, not a structural mount by itself.

It must be paired with suitable mounting hardware for your vehicle, vessel, roof rack, tray, rail or site structure.

Can I use the V-Cell on a mine vehicle or fleet vehicle?

Yes, the V-Cell is designed for harsh mobile and commercial environments, including mining, fleet and industrial applications.

The final installation must still be assessed properly. The mounting structure, cable routing, sealing, vibration exposure and service access all need to be considered.

Can the V-Cell be used on a caravan, 4WD or canopy?

Yes, provided there is a suitable mounting location and the correct mounting accessories are used.

Before fitting, check roof space, rack position, cable routing, vehicle clearance and whether the housing can be accessed later for inspection or service.

Do I need separate mounting accessories?

In many cases, yes.

The V-Cell housing and the mounting hardware are separate decisions. Depending on your setup, you may need compatible accessories such as a drop-down bracket, S-rails or roof rack wing supports.

Check the product options carefully before ordering.

What is the drop-down bracket used for?

A drop-down bracket can help position the V-Cell lower between roof rack bars for a cleaner vehicle installation.

This may be useful where overall height, wind exposure or roof rack layout needs to be considered.

What should I check before closing the housing?

Before closing the V-Cell, check that the Starlink terminal is seated correctly, cables are routed cleanly, gasket surfaces are clear, cable-entry points are fitted properly and nothing is being pinched.

Do not force the housing closed if a cable or component is not sitting correctly.

No. Do not drill, cut or modify the Starlink terminal.

The terminal should sit inside the V-Cell housing without modification.

Is the V-Cell suitable for in-motion use?

The V-Cell is designed for mobile and harsh-environment installations, but in-motion use depends on the full setup.

The mounting system, fasteners, support structure, cable routing and installer judgement all matter. Always check the installation before driving and follow local road rules and site requirements.

What should I check before contacting support?

Before contacting Spacetek support, please check:

  • Which Starlink model you are using

  • Which V-Cell model you have

  • Which mounting accessories are being used

  • Photos of the mounting location

  • Photos of the cable-entry area

  • Whether the gasket and seals are seated correctly

  • Whether the housing is mounted to a suitable structure

  • Whether the Starlink app shows any obstruction or performance issues

Photos of your setup will help us understand the issue faster.
